Let's get started
Andrew Crosson
Issue date: 2/3/10 Section: Opinion
All of these things matter. Do you realize that? All of this directly affects you because you are an integral part of this institution, whether you are a freshman, a senior or a faculty/staff member. Your opinion is important.
The last thing I want, though, is to give my opinion and then walk away. Every time I write something, I will attempt to offer a solution to the problem. It won't always be the correct or best solution, but at least it will be a step in the right direction.
I encourage you to join the conversation. One particular way is to check out samfordcrimson.com. You can leave comments on my column and tell me how much you think it sucks, or how completely wrong I am. Hopefully, though, you'll comment there to offer your voice to the discussion.
The last thing I want, though, is for you to finish reading this, put down the paper and walk away without taking the time to consider what you just read.
My goal for this column is to get people talking about what no one seems to be willing to talk about. To give people the courage and confidence enough to stand up and get things done. To make this a better place.
Let's get started.

First of all, for the sake of accuracy, it was Santa Claus that I wanted to abolish...not the Easter Bunny.
:-)
Secondly, I look forward to reading your columns. (Continued…)

This is where you column comes in? So previous topics written by Crimson writers such as the need to look at the racial disparity at Samford, the need to reform the Alabama Constitution, "Going Green Initiatives", the healthcare reform have been pointless then. (Continued…)

While I echo Sir Moss in welcoming you to the staff here at the Crimson, I cannot do so with the same level of respect that he gave.
In all honesty, I was offended at your article. (Continued…)

I don't really appreciate the Black comment. Racism is no laughing matter.

Well, it seems my cohorts have jumped the gun on me. Please look forward to my own scathing addition to this body of rebuke. It will be published next week. (Continued…)

Wow, you columnists are mad. It makes for fun reading.
Before you bury Andrew for his belittling of you, you need to understand from where he comes. (Continued…)

While I won't go into his word choice or phrasing or anything (I'm not an English or JMC major for a reason), I for one am glad Andrew wants to write a column dealing with issues more unique to our microcosm. (Continued…)

I love it andrew.
I'm excited to read an article in a "Samford" paper that actually deals with "Samford" issues- which will finally spark necessary conversation among the Samford community. (Continued…)
